Lebanese weightlifting champion, Alexa Marie Sami Mina, who resides in the United States, secured the silver medal at the Arab Women’s Weightlifting Championship held in Doha, Qatar, organized by the Arab Weightlifting Federation.
Alexa, competing in the 63kg weight class, lifted 81kg in the snatch, 99kg in the clean and jerk, and totaled 180kg. Tunisian athlete Chayma Rahmouni won the gold medal, lifting 91kg in the snatch, 111kg in the clean and jerk, for a total of 202kg. Emirati athlete Mai Ahmed earned the bronze medal in total with a lift of 154kg, while Algerian Makhtaria Bouhajar took the bronze in the snatch with a lift of 70kg. Saudi Arabia’s Fatima Abdelmoneim claimed the bronze in the clean and jerk with a lift of 85kg.
