Lebanese President Michel Aoun received a phone call from Iraqi Prime Minister Mr. Mohammad Shia’ al-Sudani, who congratulated him on his election as President of the Lebanese Republic. During the call, Sudani emphasized the deep brotherly relations between Iraq and Lebanon and stressed the importance of strengthening these relations in all fields to serve the interests of both countries and their peoples.
Sudani also reiterated Iraq’s continued support for Lebanon, expressing Iraq’s commitment to helping Lebanon overcome the consequences of its recent hardships. In response, President Aoun thanked Prime Minister Sudani for his congratulations and for Iraq’s ongoing solidarity with Lebanon, underscoring the importance of further developing the ties between the two nations.
In another development, President Aoun also received a congratulatory call from Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud.
Additionally, President Aoun congratulated Lebanese player Hady Habib after his historic qualification to the second round of the Australian Open Tennis Championship, following his crucial victory over Chinese player Wei Bo. President Aoun stated that this achievement, which marks the first time a Lebanese player has reached this stage in a Grand Slam tournament, reflects the successes of Lebanese athletes in major global competitions, elevating Lebanon’s name and showcasing the admirable image of Lebanese youth wherever they compete around the world.
