Lebanese taekwondo player Anthony Nofal (under 55 kg) secured a silver medal in the Kyorugi (free fighting) category at the “Turkish Open Taekwondo Championship,” as part of the Lebanese delegation under the supervision of former world champion and Iranian coach Farzad Abdollahi.
Nofal successfully advanced to the final round. He competed in six matches, winning in the quarterfinals against a Turkish opponent, in the semifinals against an Iranian, but lost in the final to another Turkish player.
Lebanese Taekwondo Federation President Dr. Habib Zreifeh called Nofal to congratulate him on his silver medal.
On the first day of the competition, Jane Aboud (13 years old) also won a silver medal for Lebanon.
