: Preparing for “Yazbek” in “Kamel El Adad 3” Took a Lot of Time—Working with Dina El Sherbiny and the Cast Felt Like Family

Since his first appearance as a model in music videos for top stars like Angham and Nancy Ajram, Lebanese actor Saleh Abdel Nabi has captured the hearts of audiences. He later proved his acting talent through remarkable roles in various drama series.

In this exclusive interview with Masr Times, Saleh Abdel Nabi shares insights into his experience working on the third season of Kamel El Adad after the massive success of the first two seasons. What surprises await viewers in the new season?

Did you anticipate the audience’s reaction to Yazbek on social media?

Honestly, I did. I was shocked when I first read the script—I never expected Yazbek to become such a loving and kind father. I initially thought his character in season three would be much darker.

What attracted you to this role in particular?

Interestingly, what drew me to the character in the first season was different from what intrigued me in the third. This time, I was captivated by the idea of portraying a mature, affectionate father.

How did you prepare for the role?

Let me tell you—it took a lot of time! The emotional scenes, especially those involving tears and deep feelings, were quite challenging in the beginning.

Yazbek is a complex character—a father who abandoned his children and later returned after years. How did you approach this?

Yazbek has a deeply kind side, which resonates with me because I am naturally kind-hearted. The other aspects of his personality required careful preparation.

What was it like working with stars like Sherif Salama, Dina El Sherbiny, Hussein Fahmy, Esaad Younis, and Mimi Gamal?

Working with Dina, Sherif, Esaad, Mimi, and Hussein Fahmy was an absolute joy. It truly felt like we were a real family. I remember feeling so happy when I signed the contract that I even posted about it on Facebook!

Which series are you watching this Ramadan?

Unfortunately, I don’t have much time to watch multiple shows, but I’m definitely following Kamel El Adad 3 and Ashghal Shaqqa Jeddan by Hesham Maged.

How do you usually spend Ramadan?

I love the family atmosphere during Ramadan. This year, my family came from Lebanon to spend the month together, which makes it even more special.

Any upcoming projects?

No new projects at the moment—we’ve just wrapped up filming Kamel El Adad 3.

Tell us about the behind-the-scenes experience on set.

It was truly one of the most enjoyable filming experiences! Even when we weren’t shooting, the set was full of laughter and fun.

What was the most challenging scene in Kamel El Adad?

The most challenging scenes were the ones involving the entire cast, as they required precise coordination in terms of movement and performance—especially with the child actors.
