“Authenticity Album,” a program on “Tele Liban,” will dedicate its upcoming Saturday episode to honor the late esteemed artist, Kamal El-Helou. This tribute follows previous episodes that commemorated other departed figures such as Hind Abi Al-Lamaa, Antoine Remy, Nouha Al-Khatib, Elie Saade, Philip Akiki, Antoine Kerbage, Fouad Awad, and Fady Ibrahim.
The episode, filmed in the Ambassadors’ Hall at Casino du Liban, will feature journalist Robert Franjieh hosting Tammy El-Helou, the niece of the late artist, along with former Syndicate of Musicians head Saad Saab. Also joining are actors, writers, and producers including Elvira Younes, Jean Khaled, Rosie Al-Khouli, Lilian Bustani, Tony Issa, Nagham Abu Shdeed, and Khaled El-Sayed. The broadcast will also include an old interview with Kamal El-Helou conducted by the program’s presenter after he received the Murex D’or award for his role as Abu Wa’el Al-Sayyad in the series “Maleh Ya Bahr.”
Additionally, the episode will feature filmed testimonies from writer Shukri Anis Fakhoury, actors Carmen Lebbos, Yousef Haddad, Randa Hashmi, and producer Antanios Abi Hatem.
The program will also showcase video segments of El-Helou’s works in television drama, theater, and cinema, alongside excerpts from his biography in oud and music. Composer Wahid Azar will play the theme song of the series “Ghareebah” on the piano as a tribute to El-Helou’s spirit. A report on Minister of Information, Lawyer Dr. Paul Markos, honoring El-Helou and presenting him with the “Tele Liban” shield will also be featured.
“Authenticity Album” airs every Saturday at 9:30 PM on Tele Liban, with a rerun on Sunday at 3:30 PM. The program is directed by Bassam Khoueiry.
