Egyptian comedian Bassem Youssef announced that he will donate part of the proceeds from his upcoming “Stand-Up” shows in Europe to support Gaza’s children amid the dire situation in the region.
In a post on his official social media accounts, Youssef confirmed that a portion of the ticket sales from his European tour will go to the “Sands for Relief” Foundation, which works to provide milk for children, and support displaced people, the sick, and orphans in Gaza.
“Sands” is a relief organization based in Paris, founded by Egyptian journalist Ahmed Abdeen. The foundation focuses on aiding victims of war and natural disasters, with a current emphasis on assisting the people of Gaza, both within the territory and those displaced to Egypt, especially children and orphans.
The relief organization issued a press statement thanking Youssef for his support, highlighting the significance of this financial and moral aid for the people of Gaza in their struggle against the ongoing Israeli aggression.
Since the onset of the Israeli offensive in October 2023, Youssef has been vocal in his support for the Palestinian people in various ways, including his controversial appearance on the British talk show “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”
Youssef’s European tour will continue until February 3, 2025, where he will perform “Stand-Up” shows in Arabic for the first time. This tour will also feature a group of young Arab stars in the field, who will perform on stage before his own appearance to the audience.
