winter is here, some of you might want to be getting away from the cold. Maybe to Brazil? Where you can spend your winter in summer – lovely beaches, longer daylight…what more could you ask for? I’ll be highlighting some of the best places to spend here in this summer paradise! Being the largest country in South America, Brazil is filled with tropical landscapes with vast stretches of rainforests filled with exotic plants and animals, you’ll always find something enjoyable to do here!
Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer)
– Rio de Janeiro
ne of Brazil’s most recognised icons, this 30 meter statue of Christ, with arms outstretched 28 meters, is perched on the peak of the 700 meter Corcovado Mountain. The statue gazes out over the city of Rio de Janeiro, providing breathtaking panoramic views of Guanabara Bay to Lagoa Rodrigo and standing opposite the Sugar Loaf which is another iconic place to visit in Brazil for stunning views. If you’re not afraid of heights, you can visit the top of the place to have a taste of this wonderful experience. Being part of the Tijuca National Park, there is a railway climb up to 3.5km to the statue where there is a broad plaza situated around it, as well as a chapel which is a very popular hot-spot for weddings.
Beaches in Rio de Janeiro
you’re wanting to be soaking up the warm sun, you’ll love the beaches in Rio being known for some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, you won’t want to miss out on this opportunity! A few of the main beaches to visit would be Copacabana, Leblon and Ipanema. If you feel like having a more quiet stroll on the beach, look no further than Avenida Atlântica. For those who enjoy going for a bit of a surf or enjoy watching surfers, visit Praia do Arpoador to do just that! But don’t forget, a hat and sunnies will be a great help to you!
