It’s been a big few weeks for Britney Spears.
After a win (of sorts) over her father in the long-running conservatorship battle, the pop singer has some more happy news: she is engaged.
Ms Spears has posted a video of her standing next to boyfriend Sam Asghari and showing off a shiny ring on her hand.
Asghari separately posted a photo of the pair kissing and Ms Spears again flaunting the ring.
Asghari’s manager Brandon Cohen confirmed that the pair were engaged.
“The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them,” Mr Cohen said via email.
Ms Spears, 39, has been married twice before.
She married childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004 but that marriage was annulled a few days later.
Later that year, she married dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she had two children, before the marriage ended in divorce in 2007.
Asghari, 27, is a personal trainer and actor who has appeared on the Showtime series Black Monday.
For more than a decade, Ms Spears, one of the best-known pop stars of the 2000s, has been placed under a conservatorship, which means she doesn’t have control over her own financial or legal affairs.
Instead, her father, Jamie Spears, has acted as conservator and had the power to make decisions on his daughter’s behalf.
Last month, Jamie Spears said in a court filing he was willing to step aside.
But Ms Spears is still not in control of her $60 million estate, and what happens next remains unclear — including what effect her engagement might have on her legal situation.
