A viral video filmed in front of the grave of the late Egyptian actor Mostafa Fahmy has sparked widespread controversy and outrage on social media. The clip features an unidentified person recording the grave while reciting lines from a famous Ramadan advertisement in which the late actor had participated before his passing.
The video quickly spread across digital platforms, showing Mostafa Fahmy’s tomb while an unidentified voice says, “Standing in front of the grave of the artist Mostafa Fahmy… May he rest in peace and be granted mercy… We are in the holy month of Ramadan, and we have not forgotten his famous advertisement.”
The real shock came when the individual began singing in front of the grave, repeating lyrics from the well-known Ramadan commercial: “Where has the fun-loving era gone, Hussein? You’re always on my mind… We miss you, beautiful artist.”
Angry Reactions
This unusual act bewildered viewers, leading to a mix of outrage and ridicule. Many questioned the person’s intentions—was this a publicity stunt aimed at gaining attention and views, or simply an ill-judged spontaneous act?
The video also faced strong criticism from members of the entertainment industry. Several artists expressed their frustration over what they called an “inappropriate” act at the grave of a beloved star who had passed away only a few months earlier. Actress Hagar El-Sharnoubi commented, “Why are people behaving like this? I’m seriously developing social anxiety… There is no power nor strength except in God.”
It is worth mentioning that Mostafa Fahmy passed away on October 30, 2024, after a battle with illness.
