Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab emphasized the importance of Arab unity and collaboration to showcase the region’s potential, during his recent visit to Dubai. The celebrated designer, who was in the city to announce a new partnership with Dubai-based Emaar Properties, expressed his belief in the power of Arabs working together to achieve great things.
Saab revealed plans to design the Elie Saab Tower, a residential structure within the Emaar Beachfront development, located in the exclusive Dubai Harbour. This new waterfront project, situated between Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah, is slated for completion in May 2023. The tower will offer a range of 1 to 3-bedroom apartments, along with luxurious four-bedroom penthouses, all featuring Saab’s signature interior designs.
At a press conference marking the announcement, Saab shared his vision: “Partnering with Emaar is an honor. Dubai, and the Arab world as a whole, must come together to demonstrate the strength we have and show the world what Arabs are capable of. We are surrounded by talented young people, and the development happening across the region — especially in real estate — reflects how each Arab individual is striving to better themselves and elevate our region on the global stage.”
Mohamed Alabbar, chairman of Emaar Properties, also spoke at the event, stressing the current need for strong collaboration. “At this moment, we need you more than ever — for the real estate sector, the community, and the reputation of our country,” he stated.
Saab echoed this sentiment, adding, “We all need each other, and together, we must be united as one force, one hand.”
The Elie Saab Tower is designed to pay homage to the elegance of the 1930s Art Deco era. In addition to luxurious living spaces, the tower will feature high-end fashion boutiques, art galleries, cafés, and lobbies, all crafted with Saab’s distinctive touch.
Among the tower’s amenities will be a terrace pool deck located on the 8th level, designed to evoke the chic vibe of Miami’s lifestyle. The landscaped area will provide a serene retreat for residents, complete with an infinity-edge swimming pool, gym, and other recreational facilities.
Residents will also have the unique opportunity to consult with the Elie Saab design team to personalize the interiors of their homes, including furniture selections, as Saab is known for his exclusive furniture collections.
Reflecting on his career, Saab remarked, “I didn’t spend 30 years building an image of a single Lebanese designer. My goal is to establish the image of an Arab designer.” He concluded with a call for unity, stating, “We must think of ourselves as one Arab world, one Arab country.”
