As the Ramadan 2025 season approaches, the “Shahid” platform has unveiled a collection of posters featuring the stars of the highly anticipated drama series The Hero. This release follows the production team’s return to filming in the village of Al-Ghassaniyah, located in the countryside of Latakia, on January 21, after a temporary halt due to recent developments in Syria.
The Hero boasts a stellar cast of renowned Syrian and Arab actors, including Bassam Kousa, Mahmoud Nasr, Nour Ali, Haima Ismail, Nancy Khoury, Wissam Reda, Khaled Shabbat, Jirgis Jabara, Humam Reda, and Rassel Hussein.
The series is inspired by the late Mamdouh Adwan’s play The Queen’s Visit, which was first staged in the 1980s. Director Laith Hajjo, who co-wrote the script alongside Rami Kousa, previously revealed that he had started adapting the play into a television script with Adwan in 2003. However, the project was postponed following Adwan’s passing in 2004.
This family-oriented social drama aims to offer a compelling narrative that reflects contemporary societal issues, blending human and social themes relevant to today’s world. With its profound storytelling and strong cast, The Hero is set to be a standout addition to the upcoming Ramadan television season.
