A Celebration of Jazz and Culture
Today marked the opening of the 8th edition of the Katara European Jazz Festival, organized by the Katara Cultural Village Foundation in collaboration with the embassies of 11 European countries: Armenia, Austria, Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland.
Engaging Performances on Day One
On the first day of the festival, the audience enjoyed performances from Spanish, German, and Austrian jazz bands that showcased melodies from heritage and a blend of classic and contemporary jazz music.
Remarks by the Spanish Ambassador
On this occasion, His Excellency Javier Carbajosa Sánchez, the Ambassador of Spain to the country, highlighted the return of the Katara European Jazz Festival after a hiatus due to COVID-19 and following the Qatar 2022 World Cup. He praised the efforts of the Katara Cultural Village Foundation in offering events that contribute to cultural and artistic exchange.
Upcoming Festival Highlights
The festival will continue until next Sunday, featuring performances from Swiss bands and the British Council on Friday, followed by a concert from the Qatar Music Academy along with bands from the Netherlands and France on Saturday. The festival will conclude on Sunday with musical performances from bands representing Malta, Belgium, and Armenia.
Venue and Timing
Concerts are held at the Katara Corniche, Gates 20 and 21, starting from 6:30 PM until 10:00 PM.
