On the 13th of April, Christopher Touma married Madeleine Barakat at St Maroun Redfern.
The celebrants for the wedding were His Excellency Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay and Fr Superior Assaad Lahhoud.
Madeleine is the youngest daughter of Barry and Fina Barakat of Strathfield.
Chris Touma is the youngest son of the Late Joseph Touma and Josie Touma of Earlwood.
The bridesmaids were Madeleine’s two sisters, Maria and Melissa, with Melissa being Maid of Honour.
The groom’s brother Daniel Touma was Best Man and the other groomsman was Joseph Touma, the first cousin of the groom.
After the wedding ceremony, the wedding reception was held as Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf. The guests parties the night away at the wonderful music of Rami and George El Mir.
In his speech, father of the bride Barry Barakat said he was delighted that both his father Harry and mother Martha were able to attend the weddings of all three girls, given what they have been through lately.
In welcoming Chris to their him, Barry paid praise to the late Joseph Touma for his influence over his sons.
Barry also thanked his wife Fina for the outstanding job she has done in raising the girls.
Barry finally added that Madeleine was intelligent and strong willed individual, but with softest of hearts. He added that her leaving the house hit the family the hardest as the house in now empty without her.
He added that whilst Madeleine left the house today to start her new life with Chris, it will always remain her home.
