A number of Lebanese basketball stars sent messages of congratulations and good wishes to Khalil Aoun on the occasion of his father, President Michel Aoun, assuming office. They expressed hopes that the new presidency would bring greater support for sports, especially basketball, a game that has brought joy to the Lebanese people.

Amir Saud, captain of the Lebanese national basketball team, called on the president to support the Basketball Federation, saying, “We need your support in the upcoming phase.”

Meanwhile, Ahmed Farran, coach of the men’s Al Riyadi basketball team, expressed optimism about Lebanon’s future, stating that “the new president is the right man in the right place.” He also hoped that the new presidency would bring strong support for sports, particularly basketball.

Basketball player Rebekah Akel also shared her personal congratulations with the Aoun family, offering special wishes to Khalil Aoun. She said, “I wish them all the best in this difficult phase. I have known Khalil and his family for a long time, and I know they will continue to support Lebanon.”

On the other hand, Lebanese national team player Jad Khalil emphasized the important role Khalil Aoun could play in supporting sports, saying, “We hope that Khalil Aoun will be an ambassador for sports during his father’s presidency and that we will see Lebanon advance in all areas.”

In closing, Ralph Akel expressed hope that the country would make noticeable progress in sports under the president’s leadership and that sports federations would receive the necessary support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports to promote basketball and other sports in Lebanon.
