The Egyptian Musicians Syndicate accepted the resignation of singer Hani Shaker, from the position of captain of musicians, after the crisis of festivals singer Hassan Shakoush’s apology to the percussionists’ division, especially Saeed Al-Artest, the trigger of the crisis.
The members of the Syndicate Council decided to accept the resignation of Hani Shaker, thanking him for his tenure as captain, and it was also decided to open the door for candidacy for those who wish to take over the position as his successor.
The crisis of Hani Shaker’s resignation began when Shakoush announced that he had obtained a card to practice singing and was allowed to perform concerts in Egypt.
Shakosh was supposed to present an official apology during a press conference, before obtaining a permit to sing again, but what angered Saeed Al-Artest, that the apology took place in the absence of Hani Shaker while he was traveling outside Egypt, with all council members not agreeing to Shakosh’s return to singing.
Hani Shaker complied with the percussionists’ desire, as he set a new date for Shakoush’s apology to the players, but he witnessed a verbal quarrel between the artist and the union secretary, musician Ahmed Ramadan, which led to Shaker’s withdrawal, and hours later he announced his resignation from the position of captain of musicians, through the media program Amr Adib.
A number of artists put great pressure on Hani Shaker to reverse the decision to resign, but he refused this completely and insisted on it, as he stressed that he needed to return to his fans again, who had been cut off from him during the last period due to his preoccupation with the crises of the Musicians Syndicate, explaining that if time came back Why was he originally nominated for this position?
