The Arabic star Walid Toufic will be a special guest on the program “Album of Authenticity” on Lebanese Television this Saturday, airing from the Salon of Casino Lebanon. The program is hosted and prepared by the journalist Robair Franjieh and directed by Bassam Khoury.
In this episode, Walid Toufic shares his life story, starting from his roots in Tripoli to his participation in the “Studio El Fan” program in 1974, and his long journey that spanned over fifty years, including cinema, theater, and concerts. The episode highlights his golden career through archival reports and video testimonies from many stars, including Assi El Helani, Saber Rebai, Wael Kfoury, Hany Shaker, Madonna, as well as actresses Elham Shahin and Laila Eloui, poets Michel Jha and Nizar Francis, media personality Mustafa Al-Agha, Maestro Elie Alia, and Dr. Fadi Al-Helo, who speak about his recent recognition at the “Murex D’or” awards.
During the episode, Toufic performs his famous song “Ya Bahr,” accompanied by artist Ralf Debghy playing the piano. In a touching gesture, Walid Toufic receives a special gift—a oud made of rosewood—from his long-time follower Joseph Joed in Aleppo, in tribute to his five-decade career.
At the end of the episode, Minister of Information Ziad Al-Makary presents Walid Toufic with a commemorative plaque from Lebanese Television in recognition of his golden jubilee.
“Album of Authenticity” will air for the first time on Saturday at 8:30 PM, with a rerun on Sunday at 3:30 PM on Lebanese Television.
