Despite recent speculation about her series “Al-Amira – Dhil Heeta” being excluded from next Ramadan’s lineup due to marketing reasons, Egyptian actress Yasmine Sabri managed to join the season and began filming last month.
The series is based on a true story and consists of 15 episodes. The screenplay and dialogue are written by Mohamed Said Beshir, directed by Ibrahim Fakher, and produced by Maha Salim. Alongside Sabri, the cast includes Nicola Mawaad, Wafaa Amer, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Salwa Osman, Abed Anani, Ghofran Mohamed, and others.
Sabri portrays a lawyer from a middle-class family who faces major struggles, particularly due to her lover’s betrayal with her lifelong friend. In the first part of the story, she appears wearing a hijab, and then embarks on a significant journey of success, eventually becoming one of the prominent women in society. For the second consecutive year, the series will air in the first half of Ramadan on the UAE’s “Abu Dhabi” channels, following the pattern of her previous series “Rahil” (written by Mohamed Abdel-Moaty, directed by Mohamed Abdel-Salam). In the second half of Ramadan, the series will move to Egypt, but it will not air on the “United Media Services” channels or the MBC network, both of which have already announced their Ramadan lineup without including “Al-Amira – Dhil Heeta.”
So far, Yasmine Sabri has not started promoting her new series on her official social media accounts, despite the circulation of a poster showing her in a black dress, with her face concealed by a head covering and a cracked wall behind her. It remains unclear whether this poster is authentic or just a rumor.
