She’s back and she’s better than ever. Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff, has just released her new album Breathe In. Breathe Out, and it’s sure to take your breath away!
It has been eight years since Duff’s last album, and Breathe In. Breathe Out. takes you on many trips down memory lane with catchy lyrics and nostalgic tunes.
The album includes 12 songs and two bonus tracks in the international version, including a song written by UK heartthrob Ed Sheeran as well as Swedish singer and songwriter Tove Lo, who wrote Hilary’s first single, Sparks.
If you’re a big fan of Hilary Duff then you will not be disappointed with the new music which will most likely be on repeat for the next couple of weeks.
Duff says this album was a ‘learning experience’ for her, as it taught her to talk about what she wants to express as an artist.
“I’m going to start writing and be who I am now and talk about some of the shit I’ve been through,’ Duff told Elle Canada.
One of my favourite songs on the album would have to be Lies, which is said to be about all the people who let Duff down in her life. The song is both touching and musically appealing.
Tattoo ft Ed Sheeran is another one of my favourites and proves that Duff can tackle any genre. The country-style song suggests that Duff has not forgotten about the people who mean a lot to her despite them leaving her, “I guess that you had to leave a tattoo
to remind me…,” This song grasps Duff’s strong and emotional voice.
Of course, we can’t forget the first single released off the album, Sparks. This song was well received amongst her fans and has been the one used to promote the album. This song definitely hints off Tove Lo’s lyrical genius through the sexual innuendos. Regardless, it is hell of a catchy song!
But that’s not all, as Hilary sure does appreciate her fans a lot and according to a Q&A she did on Reddit AMA she won’t be waiting another eight years to make another album: “I really want to make more music. I already want to start working on another record! I’ve lived with this one for so long now. I know everyone else is just now hearing it, but I’m already thinking of the next step. I will definitely not wait as long to make another record.”
In a sentence…the album breathes in Duff’s first hand life experiences and breathes out the catchy tunes and heartfelt memories.
