She is what you would call a ‘triple threat’, and Hilary Duff is exactly that! Growing up in front of the screens as Lizzie McGuire, making some of the best music around, as well as becoming a mum, Hilary is one of the world’s favourite role models.
Growing up in front of the cameras may not have been easy for Hilary and it was the past eight years when she decided to take a break from some of the acting and music making, and focus on being the best mum she could possibly be to her son Lucas. Now eight years is a very long time especially when you’re a massive fan of Hilary but it was evident that 2015 would be the year she made her comeback! But first let’s take a trip down memory lane and remember the various roles of Hilary Duff.
Hilary’s movie with our beloved friendly ghost Casper, in Casper Meets Wendy, was her first major film, which was filmed when she was only eight years old! (It seems that number has got some significance). From then on Hilary starred in many other movies such as; A Cinderella Story, Beauty and the Briefcase, Raise Your Voice, and let’s not forget the greatest movie ever, The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
The Lizzie McGuire Movie came after Hilary’s extensive role as Lizzie McGuire in the TV show Lizzie McGuire, which explored day – to – day teenage dilemmas through the awkward life of Hilary’s character. To this day, people still want more episodes of the TV series as well as a sequel to The Lizzie McGuire Movie. As of yet, Hilary has not ruled out the possibility of a sequel as images have been immerging of her and the former cast members of the TV series. But for now only time will tell.
Throughout her acting career Hilary also released four studio albums with her first album being Metamorphosis, then her self-titled album Hilary Duff, Most Wanted and Dignity. All these albums have catchy songs and were loved amongst the fans. Some of her greatest hits include So Yesterday, Fly, Stranger, and Someone’s Watching Over Me.
Hilary has definitely not lost her touch despite it being a while since she blessed our screens with her beauty and sense of humour. Hilary has actually finished filming a new TV series, Younger, which has also been approved for a second season. Despite the series not revolving around her character Kelsey Peters, Hilary is still a prominent figure within the show.
Late last year, Hilary released two songs Chasing the Sun and All About You just to see how people would react to her music if she were to comeback. Little did we know that she was actually working on an album for the last eight years! The album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., is out now all over the world and peaked at number four on Australia’s ARIA list. (You can check out my review of the album on page 12).
We don’t know what else Hilary has in store for us but for now you can enjoy her latest album and the first season of Younger. And remember that there is nothing wrong with watching old movies, so grab the family and sit down and enjoy many childhood memories.
